Many people are believed to be dead or injured after Nigeria Air Force (NAF) jets allegedly bombed Kunkuna village in Katsina State’s Safana Local Government Area.

According to the Guardian, the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, shortly after terrorists attacked President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team convoy along the Dutsinma-Yantumaki road in the Dutsinma council area.

Dutsinma shares borders with the Safana council area, and terrorists operating in Dutsinma are frequently known to flee to Safana, which is home to the dreaded Zakka forest. The Zakka forest extends into Zamfara state, and there are reports that forests within these areas serve as terrorist hideouts.

According to Gistah, the jet also hit the wrong targets during the operation against bandit camps in the area.

According to sources, many of the villagers were killed when the bombs exploded, and several others were injured. Many homes were also reported to have been leveled to the ground during the process.
