The All Progressives Committee (APC) Presidential Screening Committee has disqualified 10 presidential aspirants ahead of the party’s primaries scheduled for next week.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the Committee, Chief Odigie John Oyegun.
According to Oyegun, 13 out of the 23 presidential aspirants screened were cleared by the presidential committee.
When journalists quizzed about those disqualified, Oyegun did not disclose this but said it would be in the media publicly next week, just before the primaries.
Mr. Oyegun also revealed that he did not screen former President, Goodluck Jonathan as rumour mills suggested.
Oyegun further said that “only youthful aspirants” were cleared, a statement which has further stoked the rumours that the APC is trying to discard former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The cleared aspirants will contest in the presidential primaries next week in order for the party to decide on the presidential flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 elections.
