Beauty Etsanyi Tukura, popularly known as Beauty, is a Nigerian lawyer, entrepreneur and beauty queen who won the 43rd edition of the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant in 2019. She is also a housemate of the popular Big Brother Naija Season 7 “Level Up edition.
Although Beauty Tukura is originally from Kurmi LGA, in Taraba State, she was born in the oil-rich city of Port Harcourt and is the youngest of four children. She studied law at Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti.
In 2019, Tukura became a media sensation after representing Taraba State and winning the 43rd edition of Miss Nigeria which was hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Kemi ‘Lala’ Akindoju at the prestigious Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Tukura bowled judges and convinced everyone in attendance that she was fit to emerge as the 43rd Miss Nigeria after intimating both judges and audience alike that she would use the Miss Nigeria platform to connect with girls and have a good influence on their lives.
After she was crowned, Tukura admitted it had been her dream to venture into pageantry and entering the competition was the easiest way for her to realize her life-long dream, especially in a world, where many female celebrities are passing the wrong messages to young girls.
“From the out set, I stated it that my target is between the ages of 12 and 16 years. I feel that it’s a very important age in the life of a girl-child. That’s the age where you catch them young. So, I am going to be running an empowerment programmes of different types.”
“I went for the audition, and I was selected. The camping was amazing. They took care of us, and I enjoyed meeting every single contestant. I can’t believe that I am the 43rd Miss Nigeria. I am so happy and honoured,” she enthused shortly after she was crowned.
Career & Entrepreneurial Life
As part of emerging as the 43rd Miss Nigeria, Tukura was given a N3 million dummy cheque that was later converted, a luxury apartment and a brand-new Hyundai car. Besides being a beauty queen, Tukura is also a businesswoman who runs and manages StylishBeauty, her online business which retails authentic branded fashion and beauty items created by numerous international designers from across the world.
In 2022, Beauty Tukura entered into the Big Brother Naija Season 7 edition as one of its housemates. She immediately, went viral after reports got out that she was the 43rd Miss Nigeria. While her popularity soared among other housemates instantly, fans of the show berated the bias of the show organizers in picking people who have already enjoyed fame at some point in time.
According to her, she became a part of the housemates because she wanted to further her dreams and push herself more in the limelight and she believes the show will give her the needed recognition.
“I love a good challenge, and I am very entertaining. Most importantly, I need the platform to build my brand as Beauty Tukura further. I know that being in the House will change my life, and I am ready for that change and all it comes with,” she said.
Big Brother Naija disqualification
On Sunday August 7, 2022, Beauty Tukura was sent packing from the Big Brother Naija reality show after she got her second strike. Beauty, a week before her disqualification, was handed her first strike after assaulting Ilebaye, a fellow housemate. Her second strike which eventually led to her disqualification came after she was caught on camera breaking and damaging properties of the Big Brother House.
