On Thursday, a Magistrate Court in Jos, Plateau State, sentenced two drivers to two years in prison.
They were found guilty of stealing two goats from a police officer.
According to NAN, Abdulrohomod Mohammed and Umar Ibrahim pleaded guilty to stealing.
The magistrate, Hyacinth Dolnaan, offered the convicts a N30,000 fine each.
The pair was ordered to pay N40,000 in compensation to the animals’ owner.
Inspector Monday Dabit, the prosecution’s counsel, told the court that the case was reported on May 29 at the Anglo-Jos Police Station.
According to the complainant, Insp Chris Henry, the convicts broke into his house while he was at church and stole the goats worth N85,000.
The offense violated Sections 59, 333, and 273 of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
