Lionel Messi has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he would not discuss the possibility of signing a new deal, until after the 2022 World Cup.

Sky Sports reports that PSG has expressed interest in extending Messi’s current contract, which expires in 2023, by one more year, at least until 2024.

Messi has promised to be around at least until the end of his current contract; thus, PSG wants to create their new era under Christophe Galtier around getting the best performance out of him.

But Messi is anticipated to have a wide range of options, including in the MLS, when his contract expires next summer.

There are reports that Mbappe’s ascension since Real Madrid snub has divided the team and most of the top players who would not be controlled by the French Star would rather leave than stay.

The friction has led to a fallout between Neymar and Mbappe, with the former supposedly not wanted at the club anymore by Mbappe who was made the project director for the club after his Real Madrid snub.

Barcelona has also made public comments about Messi maybe making a comeback in the future when the team is doing better financially.
