Veteran Croatian and Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric will be staying in Madrid for one more season after extending his contract until 2023.
The midfield maestro who was crucial to Real Madrid’s 14th Champions League title win was pictured today with Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez with a shirt depicting 2023.
Reports claim negotiations between Modric and Real Madrid were fast and the player only wanted to play until 2023, next year.
Modric who is currently 36 will be 37 in September.
The Midfielder who joined Madrid from Tottenham in the summer of 2012 has since won several trophies with the club, including five Champions League trophies.
