Reno Omokri, a former special assistant to Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has issued an apology to the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for attacking the former Lagos governor over his health.
Tinubu’s health status over the past few months has been a cause of concern, leading to several speculations that the former Lagos State governor may be battling a terminal illness.
Some members of the opposition such as Reno Omokri had attacked the APC presidential flagbearer over his health status.
However, Reno took to his Twitter account yesterday to issue a public apology to the presidential candidate, stating that he would only tailor his criticisms toward issues going forward and not on Tinubu’s health.
In Reno’s words:
“I have been guilty of using Bola Tinubu’s health status against him. I now realise that if we don’t die early, we will all age and may suffer ill health. Thus, I profoundly apologise to @officialABAT and promise to focus on issues henceforth. May God bless you all.”
