Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have missed Manchester United’s pre-season training for the third day in a row, as the squad prepares to depart for their pre-season tour of Asia and Australia.
After telling the club on Saturday that he wants to leave this summer, Ronaldo cited family reasons for his absence on Monday and Tuesday, and Goal reported that he refused to train again on Wednesday.
Erik ten Hag is preparing his squad to depart on their pre-season tour on Friday, July 8, with the first game against Liverpool scheduled for July 12 in Bangkok, but it is unclear whether Ronaldo will board the plane with his teammates.
Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Napoli are all interested in signing the striker, with Blues owner Todd Boehly already meeting with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a possible transfer.
Mendes has also been in contact with clubs such as Bayern Munich and Serie A giants Napoli in recent weeks to see if there is a market for his client, but no agreement has been reached as of yet.
Ronaldo told the Red Devils over the weekend that he wants to leave this summer if a suitable offer comes in, citing his concerns that United are not moving quickly enough.
