Datti Baba-Ahmed has made clear why he agreed to be Peter Obi’s running mate in the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Elections in 2023.
Gistah previously reported that Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed was named the LP’s vice-presidential candidate on Friday in Abuja.
When he was formally introduced, Baba-Ahmed stated that he accepted the position of Obi’s running mate because he “believes in Mr Obi’s capacity to make Nigeria live up to its billing”.
He also added that Obi will not mismanage the countries resources, and the election of the Labour Party candidate as Anambra governor lends credence to that belief.
Dr. Doyin Okupe, who was previously announced as the LP vice-presidential candidate, resigned on Thursday.
His name was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as a temporary replacement in order to meet the June deadline.
