Court disqualifies Delta PDP governorship candidate over certificate discrepancies

On Thursday, July 7, a Federal High Court in Abuja disqualified Delta Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Delta state, Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, from running in the 2023 election.

Oborevwori was barred from running in the election due to discrepancies in his certificates.

The case was presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo, who ruled that the plaintiff, David Edevbie, proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Oborevwori was unqualified by the discrepancies in his documents.

When contacted, Delta PDP Chairman, Mr. Kingsley Esiso, stated that he has yet to read the court judgment in order to determine the next course of action.
