FC Barcelona will be renting out the Camp Nou for weddings and novelty matches in order to raise money in paying off the club’s debts which is currently rising.
In a newly released pricing list supposedly made public by the club, FC Barcelona will allow events such as weddings to be held at the Camp Nou for prices ranging from
Barcelona’s president, Juan Laporta revealed in August 2021, shortly after the departure of Lionel Messi that the club’s current debt had risen to €1.35 billion (£1.13bn/$1.42bn).
The current move by the club is seen as a desperate attempt at offsetting the debt of the club, while some fans believe allowing events and parties at Camp Nou desecrates the historic stadium.
According to the alleged released pricing list, the Barcelona management will charge between €1600 – €13,500 for weddings at the Camp Nou.
They will also allow fans to play a 60-minute match at the stadium between June 6 and June 11 for a fee of €300 per person in order to pay off their debts.
