Most Reverend George Dodo, the Catholic Bishop of Kaduna State’s Zaria Diocese, has passed away.
Dodo, who served as the diocese’s first bishop, was said to have passed away early on Friday following a brief illness.
In a statement released on Friday in Kaduna, Rev. Fr. Abrahaman Bisan Make, the Diocesan Vice-Chancellor of Zaria, announced the clergyman’s passing.
The statement enjoined all to pray for “his peaceful repose”, adding that information regarding his burial would be announced “as soon as possible”.
The statement read partly, “With gratitude to God, I have been directed to announce the passing unto glory of our bishop, Most Rev George Dodo, the pioneer bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria.
“This sad event took place in the early hours of Friday, July 7, 2022, after a brief illness.”
